Take a peek inside the sleek Melbourne eatery inspired by the Duchess of Cambridge.
The Duchess of Cambridge Catherine Middleton has graced many a best dressed list but a recent cafe opening may be the first time that Kate has proven inspiration for interiors. Melbourne cafe Middletown recently opened in Prahran – the latest creation of restaurateurs Randy Dhamanhuri and Valerie Fong of fellow cafe Operator 25.
Collaborating with interior architecture practice Studio Tate and branding agency Pop & Pac, the team made The Duchess their muse. “Middletown is a beautiful space that welcomes everyone through its doors. [Kate’s] humble nature and unpretentious beauty embody the design and personality of the café,” says Dhamanhuri.
There’s one colour in particular that dominates the space – royal navy. “When we think of Kate, the colour blue or navy always comes to mind.” says Dhamanhuri of the distinct blue and white colour scheme, complimented by white Terrazzo tiles.
