If you love pastel de nata, just wait until you try this Portuguese tart soft serve

Sweet Belem, Petersham.

It's everything you love about the custard tart in ice cream form.

There’s a new way to enjoy your favourite custard tart.

Pasteis de nata palace, Sweet Belem in Petersham, has launched a summery take on the classic custard tart.

The new Portuguese custard tart soft serve launched in April, but don’t let the cold weather get in the way of what is perhaps the best ice cream scoop in town.

The sweet treat is made from a super creamy vanilla soft serve, showered with pastry crumbs and dusted in cinnamon sugar. The pastry pieces have a similar taste and texture to an apple crumble topping. It’s served in a cup, but the ultimate way to eat it is to spoon it on top of a warm tart. A single serve will set you back $7.

Sweet Belem sells between 1000-2000 custard tarts every weekend, and they are considered by many to be the best in Sydney.
