Japanese milkshakes, donburi bowls and retro desserts make up the dopamine-pushing menu at this new miruku bar (milk bar) by the Devon crew.

Hop up on the bar stools and put in an order for one of their slurpable dopashakes, which come loaded with jersey milk, boba, tiramisu gelato, cookie crumbs and whipped cream cheese.

There’s plenty to spend your pocket money on from kakigori shaved ice desserts to black sesame pudding and giant matcha cookies made by ex-Zumbo pastry chef, Marcus Andrew. For a dose of nostalgia, hit up the strawberry parfait, filled with sponge fingers, fresh strawberries, strawberry gelato and whipped cream cheese, served in an old-school sundae glass.

But first, you should probably have some real food. From lunch through to dinner, DOPA will serve Japanese donburi rice bowls, a traditional all-in-one meal made from simmered meats on rice. The menu will include 20 variations, from classic teriyaki chicken and salmon sashimi to a cheeseburger wagyu don complete with melty cheese, soft egg and diced pickles.

Tom Mark Henry, the design studio behind Bistecca and Dead Ringer, has put together the retro-chic interiors, which marry creamy pastels with vibrant pops of red and blue that reference manga art.
