Don't tell nonna.
If you’ve ever tried eating lasagne on-the-go before you’ll know that it’s a seriously messy business, but an Aussie bakery chain is trying to change all that.
Banjo’s Bakery Cafe is exploring new pasta-bilities with the launch of a game-changing lasagne pie, that takes the best of both worlds and wraps them up in pastry.
The new hand-held pasta snack is made from pie pastry filled with pasta sheets, bolognese and a cheesy white sauce. Banjo’s Bakery Café CEO, Jessica Saxby, said: “Our diners are often on-the-go, so it made sense to develop a pasta-filled pocket and Signature Pie flavour that was easy to enjoy on the run at lunch-time, on the side-line of Saturday sport, at your next family picnic and anywhere in between.”
It’s not the only mash-up on the menu with Banjo’s also making a double cheeseburger pie, chicken parmi pie, and cauliflower cheese pie.
The lasagne pie is currently available at all of Banjo’s Bakery Café’s 44 locations from Wednesday 5 May. For more details or to put in an order, head to: banjos.com.au.
