Having already successfully conquered the Brisbane breakfast scene courtesy of his duo of Billykart kitchen venues, Ben O’Donoghue has turned his attention to the beloved burger. The celebrity chef has transformed the former Billykart Provisions into a burger-heavy snack haven in inner-city Wed End.

Billykart Bar may be casual but that’s not to say that the eatery is lacking when it comes to menu options. Meals favour the indulgent, with cheeseburgers crafted with a patty of three cuts of dry-aged meat, adorned with cheese, pickles, onion and ketchup on a milk bun. Other notable mentions include a pulled-pork slider, fried chicken sandwich, and a veggie burger which cradles a mac’n’cheese-stuffed mushroom, smothered in cheese fondue and zingy tomato relish. Chicken wings, mac’n’cheese bites, croquettes, parmesan and truffle fries round out the list, with American-style deli sandwiches (such as Reubens) also available.

The accompanying drinks are also rather impressive for those feeling a little parched. There’s everything from craft beer to pre-bottled cocktails, and a rather suave selection of wines available.
