And eating is all that’s required.
Breaking a world record isn’t on everyone’s bucket list but it does appear on more than a few. For those who haven’t yet achieved the accolade, now is your change with the return of Wing Week.
With National Chicken Wing Day arriving on Saturday, July 29, a trio of the country’s favourite Bavarian eateries will be banding together in celebration. From July 24 to 30, Munich Brauhaus, Bavarian Bier Cafe, and The Bavarian will be hosting Wing Week 2017, serving up special takes on chicken wings, and hoping to take out a world record all the while.
The Bavarian venues are aiming for a record breaking wing week this year, as they look to serve 100,000 wings in a single hour. This challenge will take place during on Friday, July 28 between 5pm and 6pm with wings during this ‘flappy hour’ costing only 10 cents each. It is going to be tough to outdo last year’s attempt which served up a total of 50,000 wings in a single hour across the booked-out venues.
But world records aren’t the only offering for Wing Week 2017, with eating competitions held across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. There will also be limited-edition sauces available to smother your wings in, and special deals (including a kilo of wings and a beer for $20) if you need even more temptation to get involved.
