IKEA introduces half-priced meals every Friday across Australia

Pass the gravy.

If there’s one thing we love more than a bargain, it’s meatballs. Which makes it especially good news that every Friday, you can score half-priced Swedish meatballs at all IKEA stores across Australia.

As part of the homeware giant’s Happy Days Deals, the world-famous meatballs, baked salmon, chicken parma with chips – literally all their main meals – will be 50 percent off every Friday.

This means that from 11am until close, you can feed the whole family a seriously affordable hot meal between stints browsing the showroom and picking up yet another spatula or throw blanket.

The Happy Days Deals come as very welcome news amid the never ending cost of living crisis as families across the country are doing everything they can to stretch their dollars further.

It’s not the first time that the Swedish company has responded to help their customers contend with rising costs in recent years though.

In 2023 IKEA slashed the prices of over 500 of its most popular products (including the groovy retro collection). In the same year, a UK ad campaign reimagined the ‘MTV Cribs’ formula to highlight savvy savings over extravagant spending.

Clearly, IKEA is where it’s at on a Friday night in 2024. A comforting plate of meatballs and mash is still pretty rock and roll, if you ask us. And for $6.25, even better.

There’s no catch, but you do need to be an IKEA Family member to take advantage of the half-priced meals. It’s completely free to sign up to, and just means you’ll receive special discounts and news via email (and you can unsubscribe any time).

IKEA’s Happy Days Deals are available from 11am every Friday at all stores across Australia. For more details, head to the IKEA website.
