Kentucky's famous export debuts a saucy new look.
Can a dish get any more southern than fried chicken? Apparently, it can, after a new collaboration between Kentucky Fried Chicken and fellow American giant Tabasco was announced today.
The saucy partnership will see KFC chicken marinated in the famed Louisiana sauce for a minimum of 24 hours before being fried for a spicy twist on the traditional. Perfecting the recipe was a time-consuming process according to the fried food giant, with it taking two years to perfect. It’s a limited-edition collaboration that will be available in all 620 Australian stores.
“We are incredibly excited to be able to launch KFC marinated in TABASCO® Sauce in Australia,” said CMO KFC Australia Catherine Tan. “The meeting of these two legends has been a long time coming, and the flavours are like nothing KFC Australia has created before. This recipe is exclusive to Australia, and one of the most unique products KFC has created – we can’t wait for customers to try it.”
The KFC and Tabasco collaboration will be available as a boxed meal, or a 3 and 4-piece add on to group meals during the dates of April 18 and May 15. For those with a special penchant for fire, KFC will also be offering ‘Blister Packs’ of Tabasco for even more spice.
