It’s the era of kooky desserts, where freakshakes and its decadent cousins reign supreme. And now there’s a new sugar-based star joining the elaborate dessert ranks with Melbourne’s Bistro Morgan debuting its game-changing cookie dough doughnut sandwich.

Created by famed doughnut king Morgan Hipworth, the stuffed doughnut dessert will be sold for $8 at the Melbourne sweet space from September 16. The treat can be personalised with one of three cookie dough flavours (triple chocolate, apple and cinnamon, or cookies and cream dough) paired with the customer’s choice of doughnut.

“The joy I get with creating new and exciting doughnuts is a big part of what I’m about,” explained Morgan Hipworth of his inspiration. “Introducing cookie dough creates that fresh innovation to my doughnuts and I can’t wait for customers to try it”, he continued.

The Cookie Dough Doughnut Sandwich will be priced at $8, with cookie dough also available separately from $4.50.
