Get out the white table cloth and polish up the cutlery, Merivale’s best-loved venues are now plating up multi-course menus to-go, and trust us, this is no paper serviette scenario. Spoil yourself with a special meal prepared by hospo hot-shots like Dan Hong, Danielle Alvarez, Jordan Toft, Mike Eggert, Ben Greeno and Vincenzo Biondini, with only finishing touches required at home.

Dan Hong has put together a set menu for two from his Cantonese fine diner, Mr. Wong. Sample menu: king prawn wontons in supreme broth; kung pao chicken; braised broccoli and snowpeas in garlic and rice wine; steamed barramundi fillet with white soy, garlic and shallots; Mr. Wong special fried rice; and Ben Greeno’s chocolate mousse. Priced at $95 for two.

Mike Eggert brings the charm of his laidback Italian ristorante Totti’s to you. Sample menu: Wood-fired bread, olive oil and salt; burrata, kombu and olive oil; tomato, lemon and herbs; prosciutto; fresh pappardelle, lamb ragu and parmesan; fresh linguine, spinach and herb pesto, walnut pangrattato; rocket parmesan salad; baked eggplant with chili dressing; and Ben Greeno’s chocolate mousse. Priced at $90 for two.

Try the best of Bert’s in this special menu by Jordan Toft. Sample menu: Bert’s brioche rolls and cultured butter; duck liver pate, Madeira jelly and sourdough toasts; prime rib, soft garlic jus, mustard butter; crushed olive oil potatoes, oregano; butter lettuce, chives and lemon dressing; and Ben Greeno’s chocolate mousse. Priced at $95 for two.

Vegies take centre stage in this plant-based menu by Danielle Alvarez. Sample menu: whole roasted cauliflower with smokey paprika, turmeric and garlic butter; jewelled rice with sultanas, saffron and pistachio; mint and lemon yoghurt sauce; chopped tomato, cos, radish and sunflower seed salad with lemon and za’taar vinaigrette; and Ben Greeno’s chocolate mousse. Priced at $80 for two.

Can’t beat a night in with pizza by Vinnie’s. Sample menu: Antipasto misto; prosciutto San Daniele, mortadella, burrata; mixed marinated olives; focaccia al rosmarino; pizza x 2: margherita, maiala, capricciosa, vegetarian, gamberi; insalata di rucola pere e grana; and Ben Greeno’s chocolate mousse. Priced at $70 for two.
