Byron Bay has snagged yet another top chef.
Following the recent announcement that Matt Stone and Jo Barrett have joined the team at Harvest Newrybar, acclaimed chef Alanna Sapwell has revealed that she is also Byron bound, and will take over the reins at seaside stalwart Beach Byron Bay.
The former head chef of award-winning Arc Dining at Brisbane’s Howard Smith Wharves will join the Beach Byron Bay team as head chef, commencing February next year.
Beach restaurant appears to be a perfect fit for the delicious. Unearthed Next Gen Chef, who is known for her produce-driven fare and her commitment to sustainable and ethically-raised and sourced produce.

Alanna Sapwell said: “I’m so looking forward to joining the Beach Byron Bay team; there is such a lovely, natural synergy in our core values and I’m excited to hit the ground running come February. I am eager to be joining the thriving hospitality community in Byron and working with the clever, thoughtful producers based in the local area.”

Also new to the team is Seamus Brandt, a former head sommelier at Bennelong, who has taken over the role of Operations and Beverage Manager.
