This Brisbane bar is set to be resurrected

Alfred & Constance

Following controversy, Alfred & Constance has confirmed it will reopen under new owners.

Alfred & Constance was once at the heart of the Valley’s nightlife scene in Brisbane. The revamped duo of Queenslanders was converted into a bar and restaurant, and overflowed with visitors from morn through night. But 2018 saw the venue’s closure following the bankruptcy of owner (and Doughnut Time creator) Damian Griffiths.

Now not only is Doughnut Time set to relaunch with new owners, but so too is Alfred & Constance which has just been sold for a rumoured $3-4 million. RMS Group last week took control of the venue, a group well versed in hospitality as the owners of Rush Bar and Hellcat Maggie among others.

While the negotiation period with liquidators took more than nine months, RMS Group have worked quickly to reopen a number of spaces within Alfred & Constance since purchase. The team have grand plans for the venue, with refurbishment expected for late 2019, but for now, a minor spruce up of the space and the menu was all that was required to enable immediate re-opening.

Alfred & Constance at present will trade six days a week, open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks from Monday to Saturday.
