A coffee and toast specialist lands in Sydney CBD

June's

June's Shoppe is the latest outpost from the Applejack boys.

The Applejack Hospitality crew may well be taking over Carrington Street in Sydney’s CBD. Having recently welcomed post-war inspired Bopp & Tone to the district, the group have gifted the bistro a neighbour in the form of June’s Shoppe.

Settled in the Wynyard Precinct, the new space is similarly named in ode to the founders’ families. June was Tone’s wife, and while she may have passed on, her bubbly personality has inspired this sunshine yellow-clad new coffee outpost. The hole-in-the-wall is focused on quality over quantity, offering its customers just coffee, pastry and topped toast to choose from (all of June’s favourites).

But while options may be limited, that’s not to say the menu isn’t a creative one. There’s a series of different open sandwich types to choose from which range from breakfast through lunch. There’s the Top of the B& E (friend egg, maple bacon, BBQ sauce, and red Leicester), Avo Buffalo (avocado, buffalo mozzarella, smoked tomato dressing, pepitas, and basil) and Nutella Banana Bread (Bbanana bread, nutella, banana, spiced strawberry sauce, caramel popcorn).

Lunch offerings include Pork Belly Banh Mi (roast pork belly, coriander, mint, chilli, cucumber, pickled carrot, mayo), Poached Chicken and Slaw (poached chicken, red cabbage slaw, black Sesame, turmeric mayo), and Wagyu Bresaola (wagyu bresaola, Branston Pickle, rocket, hot mustard sour cream, ricotta salata).

June’s is open from Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm.
