And there will be food by Saint Peter, A1 Canteen, Porteños, Hartsyard, Continental Deli and more.
Things are about to get a little wild at Carriageworks this winter, with the launch of a new night market dedicated to wild, foraged, sustainable and locally-sourced foods.
On July 19 for one night only, visitors will be able to hunt down dishes by some of the city’s best chefs, with wild offerings by Saint Peter, A1 Canteen, Bloodwood, Continental Deli, Porteños, Gelato Messina, Chula, Rising Sun Workshop, Anason, Kitchen by Mike, Alibi, Acre Eatery, Bertha, Chat Thai and more.
You’ll also be able to gather up a few drinks by prominent producers like Archie Rose, Young Henrys, Wyno, Wildflower Brewing, PS40 and P&V Wine and Liquor Merchants, with wild-infused spirits, natural wines and ferments just a taste of what’s on offer.
When you’ve finished feasting, there’s plenty to learn about Sydney’s thriving wild culture with a series of live cooking demonstrations and workshops which will include wild salami making with Mark LaBrooy of Three Blue Ducks and wild leaf foraging with Oakridge chef and author, Matt Stone.
Using the whole ingredient from top to tail will be a focus of the event, says WILD Night Market curator and Biota director, James Viles.
“Wild food not only means wild edibles, it also means using the entire ingredient. I want to encourage visitors to Carriageworks Night Market to think inventively about where to source and how to use the entire ingredient. This gives us a profound respect for what we are about to eat and how we eat it,” Viles said.
WILD Night Market will be held at Carriageworks on Friday July 19 from 5pm – 10pm. Tickets are priced at $10 and can be purchased online at carriageworks.com.au.
