A boutique bottle-o devoted to low-fi wines has just opened in Byron

Luna Wine Store, Byron.

And it’s run by the somms behind Noma, Love Tilly Divine and Harvest Newrybar.

Byron’s first boutique wine store has just opened on Jonson Street with an impressively varied selection of natural, sustainable and minimal intervention wines.

Called Luna Wine Store, the new shop is a joint venture between three former sommeliers, Russ Berry from Harvest Newrybar, James Audas from Noma and Tom Sheer from Love Tilly Divine. James and Tom are also the directors of Lo-Fi Wines, their own wine import company.

The shop’s wine collection is made up of over 300 bottles, with something for the wine-geek through to the everyday drinker.

“The Byron community has a great connection with the food they eat and this can now extend to drinking wine consciously too, and with a firm understanding of where their wine comes from. We all know that to make good wine, we need healthy grapes,” Berry said.

Among the selection are drops by local legends like Jilly, Latta, Tom Shobbrook, Bill Downie and Ochota Barrels.

The store has been given a natural, minimalist fit-out – much like the wines – with spotted gum tree panels and polished concrete floors.
