But it's not all bad news.

Sydney fine-dining favourite The Bridge Room will close its doors at the end of April after eight years of exceptional service.

The shock announcement from husband and wife duo Ross and Sunny Lusted, together with business partners the Fink Group, isn’t all doom and gloom though, with the pair revealing plans for an exclusive new venture in 2021.

The pair have cited the new opening as the reason for the closure of their much-loved Bridge Street restaurant, announcing the new venue will open in one of Sydney’s most exciting precincts with further details to be revealed in the coming months.

“The Bridge Room has been a true labour of love and we feel so honoured to have connected deeply with our diners,” says Sunny Lusted.

“We have been blessed with so many loyal guests that have dined with us regularly throughout the years and an incredible team who have contributed to the fabric of what The Bridge Room is.

“We look forward to seeing all our wonderful diners who have supported us over the last eight years and having a toast with them to the next chapter” adds Sunny.

With its Scandi-luxe interior and menu favourites, including the tender and rare ash-grilled duck, the closure is another loss for Sydney’s fine-dining scene coming just weeks after Neil Perry announced changes to his Italian restaurant Rosetta in order to cater to the growing group of casual diners.

The restaurant has been a regular contender in the New South Wales’ delicious. 100, coming in at number nine in the most recent list in 2018.

The Bride Room’s last service will be on Saturday, April 27.
