We are not cross about it.
If you’re not a dried fruit fan, you might fancy Coles’ newest hot cross bun range.
Forget choc chip, the supermarket giant has instead decided to go with jalapeño peppers.
The new limited-edition buns are filled with diced jalapeño, parmesan and cheddar and finished with crispy cheddar cheese on top.
The range was inspired by the Coles Bakery’s Laurent Mini Pane Di Casa Jalapeño Loaf, which has been a huge hit with customers.
“Coles took a risk with our first-ever savoury vegemite hot cross bun edition and customers absolutely loved them, so we knew we had to spice things up with our latest range,” said Coles General Manager of Bakery, Deli, and Seafood Andy Mossop.

“We’re confident our customers will love it just as much as they loved the previous new flavours like vegemite, lamington, and sticky date pudding hot cross buns.”
The jalapeño hot cross buns are now available from Coles supermarkets for $3.50 for a 6-pack.
