Avoid a wait for good with this handy new tech development.
Dining out is a huge part of most social calendars, but it seems rare to find an eatery that you can drop into without a painful wait ahead of you these days. To ease our waiting woes, the latest update from Google Maps has arrived with this in mind.
Introducing the latest version of Google Maps iOS app. The tool has just incorporated a new and improved ‘Popular Times’ section to its offering. And while this feature has been available since 2015, it has never been able to log real time – until now.
Version 4.27 (the latest update) rolls out live data on your chosen location, meaning that it can chart just how busy your chosen cafe or restaurant is at the time you search for it on the app. The new Live tool shows pink on the graph against the average visitor amount, while also remarking in grey alongside the graph, with comments such as ‘not too busy’.
As an added extra, the Popular Times feature also reveals the average time spent at your destination should you want to grasp whether it is more suited to a lazy lunch or more of a takeaway option.
