Here's where he's heading next.
Just months after joining the team at Harvest Newrybar as Executive Chef, acclaimed zero-waste chef Matt Stone has announced he’s moving on to the next gig.
Matt Stone made the announcement on his Instagram account last Saturday night. “Moving to the Northern Rivers has been a hell of a ride so far. I was so lucky to settle in quickly and move to my good mate Nick’s place, I was made to feel so welcome up here. He and the team had just opened Ciao, Mate! in Bangalow and it fast became my regular (I’ve literally eaten there at least once a week since moving up).

“Nick has made the call to step out of the business to pursue other dreams. After plenty of consideration, things have fallen into place and I’m excited to be taking the reins at Ciao, Mate!”
Matt Stone will finish up at Harvest Newrybar at the end of March.
“Harvest has been thrilled to have Matt Stone be a part of the team as executive chef for the past few months – providing a great welcome to the Northern Rivers region for Matt,” Harvest Newrybar said in a statement.
Ciao, Mate! is a new Italian eatery in Bangalow that specialises in woodfired sourdough pizzas with cheffy toppings like venison salami with habanero honey, and spicy pork with sage and maple.
