Owners Gregory Llewellyn and Naomi Hart have turned their attention to their second venue Wish Bone.
It’s the end of an era for Newtown institution Hartsyard as owners Gregory Llewellyn and Naomi Hart confirm the sale of their inner-west restaurant to current head chef Jarrod Walsh (ex Automata and QT) and his partner, chef Dorothy Lee.

Llewellyn, the hot-sauce-loving, New York-born chef whose buttermilk fried chicken and oyster po’boys sent Sydney into raptures, said it was time to step away from the full-time chef/owner role, with him and Hart planning to focus on their young family and Wish Bone, their casual dining venue in Enmore.

Hartsyard (recently ranked at number 31 in the 2018 delicious. 100 in New South Wales) has gone from strength to strength over the past seven years, with a recent refurb and menu overhaul that had delicious. national restaurant critic Anthony Huckstep dubbing it the best incarnation of itself: “a restaurant with a knack for whole-hearted hospitality, thanks to the loveable owners, they’ve always delivered big.”
They’re big shoes to fill, but delicious. looks forward to seeing what the next-gen Hartsyard has to offer. Watch this space.
