With plenty of changes in store.
The Old Clare Hotel is not only famed for being a design haven, but the sleekly styled Sydney haunt also boasts one of the inner city’s best rooftop bars. Complete with pool, ample seating, and views out onto the greater CBD, the Old Clare Rooftop has just reopened in time for the end of summer.
Of course, the aesthetically inclined drinking hole has a few surprises in store for regulars in 2019. Namely, a slight revamp has been bestowed on the Kensington Street favourite to make it even more appealing way to cocktail the night away.
“The essence of the place remains as it has always been – an urban rooftop that despite being elevated ensures you feel that you’re still a part of the surrounding neighbourhoods of Chippendale, Surry Hills, Redfern and Central,” explains general manager Timo Bures. “We’re adding some new outdoor lounge furniture to ensure people can enjoy a relaxed cocktail and the new canopy-style glass structure allows everyone to do just that year-round.”
The food offering has also been a key new focus for the space. The fare will now be provided by Kensington Street neighbour (and most recent addition) Barzaari Chippendale. Those attending any private functions or events in the space will now be able to indulge in fare from Barzaari, Automata and A1 Canteen. With capacity for 150 guests, the Rooftop Bar welcomes exclusive bookings for the whole venue, as well as for larger groups.
The Rooftop Bar is open to the public on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3.00pm, and from Friday through Sunday from midday.
