Piccolina Gelateria has become a cult favourite since it first popped up in Melbourne in 2015. Now boasting three stores spread across the Southern capital (in Fitzroy, Collingwood and St Kilda), the dessert haven has become renowned for its focus on traditional gelato made from fresh, seasonal ingredients.
But its not just cone-based treats that the gelateria excels at as its latest creation goes to show. In a special ode to Easter, Piccolina has just launched a limited-edition Easter gelato cake.

Picture a golden egg, stuffed with dulce de leche filling, and nestled inside a nest made of dark chocolate shards. This decadent creation sits on top a ‘throne’ of salted caramel gelato layered with a chocolate butter biscuit, which has then been coated in a milk chocolate velvet spray.
Designed to serve four people (or a very greedy two), the Easter gelato cake is available for $28 and can be purchased in-store from Piccolina Collingwood, Hawthorn, and St Kilda between the dates of Friday April 5 and Sunday April 21. Those eager to pre-order can also do so online from April 4.
