The Swillhouse Group will be bringing Italian to the former site of Berta.
Fans of Swillhouse Group will be pleased to hear that their food-favouring brood is growing. Co-owners of Restaurant Hubert Anton and Stefan Forte will be partnering with fellow Swillhouse member Toby Hilton, to introduce Alberto’s Lounge, an Italian eatery set to reside in the former headquarters on the Sydney CBD fringe.
Unlike its French sibling Hubert, Alberto will cater to Italian cravings, a specialty of Hubert chef (and former 10 William talent) Dan Pepperell who has been named as executive chef of both venues. With plans to open in November, the menu is not yet set but is promised to include plenty of creative takes on Italian favourites thanks to Pepperell being given free rein in the kitchen. Hubert’s manager Anthony Moore and sommelier Andy Tyson have also been appointed Alberto’s Lounge team members.
The restaurant will retain much of Berta’s original fixtures, but with a distinct Swillhouse touch. Inspired by the 1960s, Alberto will integrate booth seating, and dark chocolate carpeting throughout, with art provided by local talent Allie Webb.
