Neil Perry's last independent restaurant will shut its doors this May.
Eleven Bridge, the last remaining independent eatery from the Rockpool Dining Group, is set to close its doors this May. The Sydney CBD space will not be forsaken altogether by owner Neil Perry however, with the celebrity chef planning a Cantonese restaurant in its place.
Eleven Bridge first opened as Rockpool in 1989, with the team led by executive chef Phil Wood. Phil will be with the three-hatted space till the end, when it closes its doors after dinner service on Saturday, May 13.
“Rockpool Dining Group operates a tight-knit family of quality restaurants and great brands with maximum efficiency and it makes sense to operate the Eleven Bridge site within this portfolio, rather than as a standalone restaurant,” explains Neil Perry of the decision to shut down Eleven Bridge.
Chief executive officer Thomas Pash continues that the foodie group has plans to better utilise the CBD location. “The location is perfect and being part of the critical mass that is Rockpool Dining Group makes it more manageable for everyone. It’s a unique and historic site, and a handsome addition to the group. We’re looking forward to revealing the latest addition to our portfolio in due course,” he says.
