Merivale’s latest venue is a throwback to founders John and Merivale Hemmes, with a 60s vibe, personalized trolley service and a jazz sound track on level 2 of the Angel Hotel.

J&M has initially launched as a showcase for Chivas Regal, with nips starting from $12 through to a cool $220 for Chivas Regal the Icon. Purchase a bottle of Chivas 19 and the dapper staff will personalize the bottle and pop it on the shelf for your next visit. The list also has a solid range of blended single malt scotch, plus Irish whisky.

If you prefer things a little sweeter, order a POP S.C.O.F, with buttered popcorn washed Chivas and salted caramel syrup, or a one-two punch of scotch with absinthe, aperol and apricot saffron syrup in the Life Less Ordinary.

Bar snacks stay with the same throw-back theme –crisp parmesan wafers, feta-stuffed fried olives and pate to spread on Melba toasts, – and all the classic cocktails are available, too.
