Celebrate the golden trifecta of bread, butter and garlic at this special one-day event.
Get your gluten on at the Thornbury Garlic Bread Festival, an annual celebration of the foil-wrapped log.
The festival will dish up a range of carby creations from pan de ajo Mexican garlic bread to loaded garlic bread topped with bacon and cheese. There’ll be simple, classic garlic bread for the purists and super fancy garlic bread for the snobs, basically, there’s something for everyone (provided you like garlic bread).
But honestly, there’s more to do than just sit around eating garlic bread. You can also run with it, in the garlic bread relay race, or show off your carb-loading skills in the garlic bread-eating contest. There’s even garlic bread bingo.
Yes, it’s good old-fashioned garlicky fun for the whole family, and you can even bring your dog too (just please don’t feed them any garlic bread).
The Thornbury Garlic Bread Festival is held on Saturday, April 29 from 12pm until 5pm. Entry is free. For more details, head to: welcometothornbury.com.
