Don't mind the meat sweats? We've got the spot for you.
Fire up the barbecue and slump into your seat at Gyuniku, Haymarket’s newest Japanese all-you-can-eat barbecue buffet. With 30 barbecue stations just waiting for you to unleash your inner fire master, this is where meat dreams come true.
First up, let’s talk about the star of the show: wagyu beef. We’re talking about cuts so deliciously intense, and richly marbled that it’s worth the price of admission alone. With options like free-flowing wagyu MB 9+ and MB 7-9, this is the sort of beef that could convert even the most dedicated herbivore.

Before you rush in like an angry bull, it’s wise to prepare a bit – maybe do some stretching or even train like an athlete in the days leading up to your visit. This buffet is not for the faint of heart (or stomach). Between the buffet of chicken, beef short ribs, pork, veggies, sashimi and sushi piled high on your plate, you might just find yourself in a food coma.
We know there’s a dessert stomach in there somewhere, so if you somehow manage to save room after all that glorious grilling, the all-you-can-eat fro-yo is the cherry on top (sorry). This station also has DIY toppings – think, chocolate, tapioca pearls, mochi and fruit jelly.
One last thing: this buffet has a “waste not, want not” policy, charging $25 per person for leftovers so don’t be greedy, pace yourself, but also keep in mind you also have a 90 minute time limit.

What is wagyu beef?
Wagyu refers to select breeds of cows that originate in Japan. The meat is highly prized for its intensely marbled, rich, and fatty grain. Wagyu herds have been exported around the world and can be locally sourced in Australia. The marble score indicates the fat-to-meat ratio (higher generally means better but they’re all very good).
Gyuniku is open 7 days at shop 34, 1 Dixon Street, Sydney. For full details and to book, head to the Gyuniku website.
