Sushi boats are now a thing and you can find one in Melbourne

Why take the train when you can go by boat.

A new Japanese restaurant has landed in Melbourne, with a sushi menu that’s delivered by boat.

The water-powered system allows diners to pinch their precious cargo, from sushi, sashimi, gyoza, and karaage, as the boats go bobbing past. All plates are priced at $3.80 each.

If the whole concept doesn’t really float your boat, why not steer towards the a la carte menu, which is filled with premium Japanese eats from a foie gras donburi bowl to a rack of dry aged tuna. For something more substantial, there’s also a 10-piece omakase set served on elevated steps, which starts light before working its way up to the richer, heavier dishes.
