Sydney's best burger joint has opened in Melbourne and you better be queuing right now

The double Mary's burger.

Run don't walk.

No, it’s not another pop-up. Sydney’s famed burger joint Mary’s has opened its first venue in Melbourne, and trust us, you’re going to really, really like it.

If you haven’t managed to get your mitts on one of their meat monsters yet, get ready for meltingly tender med-rare patties coated in liquified cheese, lettuce and tomato, with the option of smoky trashcan bacon, on a soft, brioche bun.

The menu will also include their ear-shattering fried chicken,  mash ‘n’ gravy, as well as a substantial vegan offering from their juicy mushroom burgers to crispy cauliflower “fried chicken”. Melbournites can also expect some entirely new offerings exclusive to the southern capital.

Beyond the burgs, you’ll find the usual stockpile of booze, from local craft beers (including their own Slayer Juice) to natural wines, with an emphasis on wild and weird drops from young and upcoming producers.

And just to one-up their home state, the Melbourne Mary’s is the biggest one yet, with an onsite bar and mezzanine dining area, that will seat up to 140.

Channeling their signature macabre style, the new eatery is set to be adorned with a custom wrought iron chandelier, hung with over 24,000 dead roses. Naturally, the heavy metal soundtrack will carry over as well as the raucous late-night party vibes.
