The Melbourne chef shares his motivational jogging mix.
When he’s not supervising the kitchens of Vue de Monde and his other Melbourne restaurants, cooking dinner for his six kids or developing a hotel in the Dandenongs, Shannon Bennett is jogging.
“I’m a massive jogger; I jog three or four times a week and do 15-20kms a time. I always try to mix my playlist up,” he says.
He describes his music taste as eclectic, ranging from classics like Bob Dylan to lesser known artists like NorwegianKygo. When it comes to jogging, he prefers high energy tunes.
“All the tracks on my playlist are very lyrical; I try to find lyrics that motivational with good energy and meaning. I want something that motivates you at the 12km mark, when it’s 6am and you want to push through –I find it energies me for the rest of the day.”
