Including the playful prints from Matteo Downtown.
Acclaimed abstract painter and former frontman of Sneaky Sound System, Daimon Downey, has just launched his first online art exhibition. The collection includes new works created in iso, as well as past prints including pieces from his Italian-inspired mural at Matteo Downtown in Sydney.
The ARIA-award winning musician and visual artist is also a former restaurateur himself, having co-owned French Henri, Lemon Tree, Pelicano, and Miss Sippy in the past. His art can be found on the walls of many high-end venues, with pieces commissioned for boutique Byron Bay retreat Raes on Wategos as well as the newly refurbished Ravesis Hotel in Bondi, Matt Moran’s North Bondi Fish, Matteo in Double Bay and Matteo Downtown, the latter of which has 44 of Downey’s artworks on display.

During his time in iso, Downey has created a number of new abstract and expressionist pieces, which can now be viewed and purchased online.
“The website is a first for me, a portal to show on a larger format my new works, ideas, and I guess, a more detailed insight, but more importantly, it’s a platform to show and sell prints, something I have never done before,” Downey said. “I’m super excited to release signed and limited numbered runs of works from past shows and new works.”

Downey will also be hosting a number of intimate viewing parties for art aficionados and VIP guests at his home studio in Bondi over the coming weeks, which will be live-streamed online.
