Kerrie McCallum, the editor-in-chief of delicious., is not a perfectionist. “For me, it’s personality over perfection, every time,” she says. It’s a philosophy echoed in David Jones’ Art of Living autumn/winter collection, where home, food, beauty, health and wellness are showcased and celebrated.
“I love that David Jones is melding together food with entertaining, produce, fashion, wellness and art,” says Kerrie. “That’s how life is. That’s how we all want to live.”
The Art of Living launch was an immersive two-day event held at modern art hub MONA in Hobart, and confirmed the retailer’s desire to make living an art form, and to “elevate existence with day-to-day delights and everyday elegance”.
Key media and influencers such as David Jones ambassadors Victoria Lee and Jessica Gomes, along with Gemma Ward, attended the launch feast, which featured acclaimed Tasmanian producers, winemakers and artisan distillers.
For Kerrie, who describes her personal style as “maximalist”, life is lived in full colour. “I’ve curated my own life with this in mind,” she says. “It’s vivid and eclectic and not without a little mess sometimes, but it’s always fun and delicious. I want the people around me to have a great time and a late time. That’s the art of living.”
