Smelling like a herb has never been so chic.
Le Labo, the New York-based fragrance label known for its luxurious, handcrafted scents, has just dropped its latest creation: a coriander-scented perfume. Yep. Coriander, the herb that’s either the key to flavour bliss or, for some, tastes like a mouthful of soap. Named Coriandre 39, the punchy scent you either love or loathe is now available to spritz.
Coriander’s step out of the kitchen and into the perfume world is sparking the same polarising reactions as it does on a bowl of pho. While many are excited about the fresh, green aroma of this divisive herb, others might be wondering, “Did Le Labo really just bottle up my least favourite garnish?” The answer is yes, and they did it in style.

Coriandre 39 will set you back $255 for a 15ml bottle – or if you’re a die-hard fan, a 500ml bottle is a cool $2700.
For those on Team Coriander, this new scent is like capturing the essence of a sun-dappled garden, green, crisp with a hint of spicy lime. It’s fresh enough to make you feel like you’ve just strolled through an open-air market.
But for those who still hold a grudge against coriander from that unfortunate guacamole incident? Well, this might not be your next signature scent. Yet, with Le Labo’s magic touch, you might be tempted to give it a sniff (and maybe reconsider your stance).
Le Labo’s limited-edition Coriandre 39 is available to buy online until September 30.
