Melbourne chef Shane Delia flew to Sydney to cook for an intimate lunch of VIPs at the launch of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. On the menu at the private studio in Alexandria? Tartare, beef and a killer cheese board. However his highlight was getting to “pick up a supermodel”, literally. “I’ll never get to do that again,” Delia joked of holding up Australian Victoria’s Secret model Bridget Malcolm, who modelled a Toni Maticevski dress for guests just hours before his opening show. Vittoria Coffee provided the buzz and beans for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia with a chic coffee cart on site at Carriageworks and limited edition cups emblazoned with prints by designers Rebecca Vallance, MacGraw, We are Kindred, Manning Cartell and Ellery. Watch out for the Vittoria Coffee Fashion Series, coming to a cup near you.

Wedgwood was the official ‘tea-room sponsor’ of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. Having collaborated with designers before, such as Vera Wang and Jasper Conran, Wedgwood’s elegant pop up was a stroke of brilliance for guests who needed a seat, plump cushion and high tea between shows. And although you could still get a glass of Champagne (in a crystal flute), Wedgwood’s special blend was the go.

Destination New South Wales set up a cart demonstrating the best local produce for snacks between shows, run by delicious collaborators Straight to the Source. The menu included Black Star Pastry’s famous strawberry and watermelon layer cake, a tasting plate with Alto olives and Sydney Rock Oysters with finger lime for the late night shows and low-carb loaders (there were a lot around).

Drinks! No fashion week would be complete without them. In the Mercedes Benz Star Lounge there was a Peroni bar, G.H Mumm bubbles, Tempus Two on tap, Baileys cocktails and San Pellegrino bottles front row! Only problem? The sparkling water runs out first. It’s tough when you’re dehydrated.
