A caffeinated brew is the motivation most people need to roll out of bed in the morning. Pod machines have boomed in recent years, finding their way to kitchen benches across the country. Now, Australia’s favourite has been crowned.

Aldi’s Expressi coffee capsule machine has taken out the top spot – the cup, if you will –  at Canstar Blue’s Most Satisfied Customer Awards for 2024 in the best Coffee Pod Machine category. The budget supermarket’s machine beat out both Nespresso, last year’s winner, and De’Longhi to take the crown and was awarded five stars for Overall Satisfaction, Value for Money and Ease of Cleaning. Plus, it sells for a wallet-friendly $78.99.

For Aldi fanatics, it wouldn’t be new-news that this machine rocks, with the brand saying it has been one of its best-selling appliances for an impressive 12 years.

Aldi sells the pods, too, of course, with “`11 different varieties available – all going for just 42c a pop. Your bank balance will thank you for giving up that $4.50 large skim cap.
