Mind your peas and q's!
In what can only be described as the faux pas of the century, the UK’s leading etiquette expert William Hanson has revealed that we’ve been eating our peas wrong for our whole embarrassing lives.
The list of dos and don’ts when it comes to table manners is as long as a royal banquet hall, for better or worse. Pouring wine, eating before the host arrives, chewing loudly or elbows on the table are all pretty obvious ones.
But according to Hanson there are far more subtle guides to observe, including the correct way to eat peas. The trick, he says, is not to scoop them up but to spear them with your fork.

This method minimises the chance of the peas falling dramatically across your plate, the table, or your ball gown. Someone, pass the smelling salts!
