Returning for another year – with everything from zucchini flowers, asparagus, peas, broad beans and blood oranges to garlic and delicious goat’s cheese – is founder of Wormticklers Nursery and permaculture expert Jordan Sly. He’ll be on site to answer your burning questions about growing your own organic produce at home.

Perish the thought, but spring will come to a close, so you’re going to want to pickle and preserve your season’s bounty. Luckily, founder of Condimental, Cameron Stephens, offers a free live preserving demonstration. He’ll be sharing his tips on capturing the freshest flavours of the season with a variety of condiments – including jams, pickles, shrubs and sauces – that can continue to be enjoyed, year-round.

The littlies will be able to engage in a special workshop by stallholder Maya Sunny Honey, where they can learn about the importance of bees and the role beekeepers play through an observational beehive. This comes alongside an interactive experience of extracting delicious honey from beehive frames. Each busy little bee will also get to take home a jar of raw Maya Sunny Honey.

Making her debut at the Spring Market this year is Gloria Heap of Leaning Oak Cheese. This artisan cheesemaker produces a range of cow’s and goat’s milk cheeses, including feta, blue, brie, haloumi, soft-ripened, spreadable and curd.

Sydney Strawberry Patch rounds out the 2023 line-up, with an abundance of strawberries from this family-run farm in Mount Vernon.

Carriageworks Spring Seasonal Markets will be held Saturday, September 16 from 8:00am–1:00pm at 245 Wilson Street, Eveleigh. For more details, head to carriageworks.com.au.
