It’s no secret that hot cross bun flavours are getting more divisive every year, but the latest flavour is very out of the box.

Food blogger @NectoriousPapi created excitement among fellow foodies after taking to Instagram to reveal that Arnott’s has teamed up with a major supermarket to release an exciting new flavour of the beloved Easter treat.

The blogger claimed the creation would be Pizza Shapes-flavoured Hot Cross Buns, leaving social media users to hit the comments section with their thoughts.

Arnott’s today confirmed the whispers that their latest collaboration with Coles Bakery is, indeed, the unusual combination of Pizza Shapes and hot cross buns, countered with a delightful Iced VoVo-inspired bun if you’re feeling less adventurous.

The new Pizza Shapes Hot Cross Buns are one of a series of bold new bun flavours to hit supermarket shelves in recent weeks, with Woolworths upping the ante with its wildly popular Fairy Bread Hot Cross Buns and Biscoff Hot Cross Buns.

Pizza Shapes Hot Cross Buns are available now at Coles supermarkets.
