The new shop will sling his famous hyper-real fruit desserts, alongside intricate cakes and pastries.

You may have seen Cedric Grolet’s art-meets-dessert on your recent Instagram scrolls, but the internationally renowned pastry chef is far more than an internet influencer. While he may have 7.8 million followers, Grolet has also been lauded as 2018 World’s Best Pastry Chef in the respected World’s 50 Best Restaurant awards and for good reason.

The chef’s mind-bending creations often feature ultra-realistic fruit desserts modelled on their ingredients. Giant chocolate raspberries, tangerines of citrus puree and miniature ‘coconuts’ of tropical dacquoise meringue.

Now the chef is branching out and opening a patisserie in Singapore, his first outside of Europe. Currently, Grolet has two outlets in Paris and one in London, so this is a rare treat for the rest of us.

The Singapore store will be housed within Como Orchard, a 19-level, 152-room hotel and premium dining and retail sector. Grolet will join Michelin-starred Cote Korean Steakhouse from New York and Miami.
