One chocolate to rule them all.

When Dubai chocolate was invented, suddenly it seemed like the word ‘viral’ wasn’t enough. Perhaps ‘epidemic’ might be more suitable for describing how wholly and quickly this delectable confection suddenly took over our social feeds, our daydreams and our purpose in life.

What is Dubai chocolate?

Dubai chocolate is a chocolate bar that comes with a filling made from pistachios, tahini and kataifi pastry. A simple description doesn’t do it justice, though; the sweet and salty flavour combination, together with the smooth texture of the chocolate against the creamy, crispy filling, does things to your mouth (and your mind) that are difficult to explain if you haven’t yet tried it. The chocolate – then known as ‘Can’t Get Knafeh It’ – was first invented by pastry chef Nouel Catis, for Fix Dessert Chocolatier in Dubai in 2021. But like most works of genius, it didn’t immediately draw the attention it deserved. It wasn’t until 2024, when TikTok discovered it, that the chocolate exploded in popularity right across the globe. A video of social media influencer Maria Vehera eating a bar of Dubai chocolate in her car has been viewed more than 122 million times.

Perhaps part of Dubai chocolate’s appeal is in its elusiveness. It’s not like you can just pop down to Woolies and pick some up when you get a hankering. But now, Lindt has made it that little bit easier to make your dreams come true, creating a special Lindt version of the insanely popular treat.
