Of course, Mariah Carey has opened a Christmas-themed bar

Celebrate 30 years of 'All I Want for Christmas is You' in the most Mariah way ever.

Every year in mid-November, something truly magical happens. The patron saint of Christmas, Mariah Carey, begins her annual thaw – ushering in the festive season, one octave at a time.

To celebrate 30 (yes, 30, sorry) years since the release of Carey’s seminal cash cow, All I Want for Christmas is You, the original diva is inviting you to experience the very merry Mariah Carey’s Black Irish Holiday Bar at Virgin Hotels across the US.

A wonderland of Carey’s personal dominion over Christmas, the pop-up also promotes her boozy Irish cream, Black Irish. The Baileys-esque (please don’t sue, Ms Carey) liqueurs come in three flavours, Original Irish Cream, Salted Caramel and White Chocolate – all guaranteed to get those sleigh bells ringing (and everybody singing).

The pop-ups kicked off on November 15 and will wrap up on December 29, so there’s still time to hop on a plane and live your most extra Christmas ever.

Decked out with twinkling lights, seasonal decorations and all the cosy vibes of a white Christmas, Mariah Carey’s Black Irish Holiday Bars will grace New Orleans, Chicago, New York, Dallas and Nashville.

Once across the threshold, fans will be greeted with a Black Irish festive cocktail, and have the chance to recreate iconic Mariah Christmas moments while snacking on local winter bites and singing along to Mariah Christmas hits.

Tickets start from US$20, which will get you a 90-minute session that includes photo ops in a life-sized gift box, one cocktail, the chance to write a holiday wish-list letter to Madam Mariah herself and a lifetime of having All I Want for Christmas is You stuck in your head.

Book your session at the website here.

How much does Mariah Carey make every Christmas?

The Queen of Christmas is rumoured to rake in around $2.5-$3m every year in royalties from her hit holiday track, which was written and produced by Carey and songwriter/producer Walter Afanasieff. We’re sure they both sleep very well at night. These earnings go up significantly if Carey puts on special Christmas concerts or tours, or the song is used as part of a product endorsement. So, no, she won’t ask for much this Christmas.
