One of Melbourne’s favourite sandwich shops is teaming up with Messina in Sydney for a very special one-off event.
We all love a good sandwich and our next Messina Eats is bringing one of Melbourne’s finest to Sydney for only two days. Hugo’s Deli, famous for its New York and Japanese inspired melts, is bringing a couple of signature sangers as well as specials that are hard to catch to the Messina Marrickville parking lot on November 17 and 18.

The menu includes Hugo’s rarely release steak frites special of charred porterhouse, cafe de Paris butter, steak sauce, fried capers, chips and comté on a crisp baguette; a spicy breakfast muffin of pork and fennel sausage, cheese, ‘nduja butter and shichimi; and a light and fluffy fried chicken sando with pickles and shredded lettuce.
Sides are just as exciting, with ‘Mum’s potato salad’ that’s heavy on the dill and lemon; and a beef ragu and parmesan loaded fries.

Dessert, naturally, is a knockout, with Messina’s triple whammy Messinabon with milo gelato, swirls of hazelnut and praline, sandwiches between oreo biscuits and dipped in a roche glaze.
The Hugo’s Deli x Messina pop-up will run from noon at the Messina carpark on November 17 & 18. 1 Rich Street, Marrickville.
