It's time to let go of coconut water once and for all.
If you ever needed convincing that the reign of coconut water is over, this is it. H2Melon, the latest health food craze that’s heading to our shores, is promising to be the new superfood trend of 2017.
The story of how watermelon water became a thing though is, like the fruit, quite unique. David Freeman (also the founder of H2coco) first stumbled upon the thirst-quenching liquid during a trip to the Nevada Dessert when he found himself without his favourite coconut water. It was there that Freeman was introduced to a cold-pressed watermelon juice that ticked all the right boxes from hydration to sweetness. When the traveller returned to the shores on Bondi, the idea for H2melon came into fruition when among friends they found themselves unable to open a watermelon at the beach. Fast forward 12 months of studying more than 33 varieties of the fruit and H2melon finally became a reality.

The water, which can be enjoyed year round thanks to long-life packaging, is filled with electrolyte potassium, amino acid L-Citrulline and antioxidant Lycopene, and is touted as being free of preservatives, added sugar and artificial flavours. The water is also naturally vegan-friendly and gluten-free (in case you were wondering).
While summer is still a few months away, we can already think of a few ways to use this new superfood (first off the list, cocktails).
H2melon is now available in Woolworths and Caltex nationwide.
