Vegans now have a whole month of celebrations

World Vegan Month

Meat-free fans rejoice, World Vegan Month has returned.

While once perhaps dismissed as a passing fad, veganism has by now well and truly proved it’s here for the long-haul.

Roy Morgan Research recently revealed that there are now 2.25 million Australians aged 18 and over who subscribe to a meat-free life. The two largest conglomerates of vegans perhaps unsurprisingly reside in Sydney and Melbourne, and are typically female millenials. Australia is now the fastest-growing vegan market, sitting directly behind the United Arab Emirates and China.

But veganism hasn’t just taken hold Down Under, but around the world. Particularly in America, where six per cent of the population is vegan, that’s a staggering 19.3 million people. And on the rise says Global Data. This is largely because its becoming more and more convenient, Dominika Piasecka of The Vegan Society told delicious. earlier this year. “You can walk into any supermarket and be greeted by a huge range of dairy-free milks and many other vegan-friendly products.”

What’s next for the vegan contingent? The emergence of World Vegan Month, a 30-day celebration of a meat-free existence. Eateries around the globe will be partaking in a series of specials and festivities to help promote the embrace of the vegan lifestyle.
