How To

The one simple trick to rid your pans of stains

Stained pan

You won’t believe how easy it is.

Let’s face it, keeping pots and pots pristine from signs of wear and tear is often more trouble than it’s worth. But, Bon Appetit recently discovered that removing those frustratingly stubborn stains from your baking accoutrements is actually easily achieve with the coupling of two ingredients that probably already live in your pantry.

Tackle those rebellious brown stains on baking trays, pans and pots with a mixture of ½ a cup of baking soda and ½ cup of white vinegar (combined with a dash of hot water from the sink). Don’t worry when the mixture starts to bubble away, as it’s this reaction which will help to loosen the residue. Let the pots (or whatever you are cleaning) stay soaking for 30 minutes to an hour before unleashing your frustration with a good scrub with a scourer on the said tray.

After your scrubbing treatment, wash your trays again, this time with your normal soap and water mixture. Finally, dry them down to avoid the potential of any rust forming.

You may  be impressed with having this nifty cleaning trick in your repertoire, but kitchen hacks are a dime a dozen, as this round-up proves.
