What? A Middle Eastern spice blend of thyme leaves, sumac, sesame seeds and salt. Sometimes spelled zahtar or za’atar.
Where? Middle Eastern food shops and specialty spice shops.
How? Use it as a crust for fried fish, toss through Middle Eastern-style salads or sprinkle it over pumpkin or flatbreads before baking.
