Blacktown is home to a diverse range of cuisines. Here you'll find everything from award-winning barbecue to cocktails, coffee and fried chicken. Here are five places to try.

BlackBear BBQ
Fans of low ‘n’ slow barbecue will likely recognise the name BlackBear. The Blacktown based barbecue masters are often seen at food festivals across Sydney and are known on the Australian competition barbecue circuit. Luckily for locals, BlackBear’s pork belly, brisket, hot links and chicken are wood smoked to perfection six days a week at their headquarters on Forge St.

Ketchup Canteen
Tucked away on Romford Rd in Kings Park is this popular but unassuming fried chicken joint. Run by the guys behind burger truck Holy Heffa, Ketchup Canteen opened at the start of the year. All the American classics are here – waffles, burgers, fries, hot dogs, shakes and sides. The small eatery often has queues lining up, but it’s worth a wait.

Burger Point at Marsden Park

Burger Point
Burger Point, in the Marsden Park Home shopping complex on Hollinsworth Rd, serves gourmet burgers, as well as ribs, waffles, fried chicken and wings. Owners Timothy and Liezl Casaje opened Burger Point in November 2016 and the family-friendly venue has gained a loyal following since. Keep an eye out for the regular specials for a unique burger creation.

French toast from The Corner Shop Cafe in Quakers Hill

The Corner Shop Cafe
For a quick coffee or a relaxed brunch, head to The Corner Shop Cafe in Quakers Hill. The bright, airy cafe opened in the Farnham Rd shops early last year and is the second venture from the owners of the Paper Plane Factory Cafe in Girraween. The colourful French toast is a popular choice on a menu that ranges from healthy buddha bowls to indulgent Nutella burgers.

Society Espresso
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks – Society Espresso in Rooty Hill has diners covered all day. The restaurant and bar was opened by the team behind Society Pizzeria Di Catania in Bondi and Society Di Catania in Potts Point, and brings its expertise in woodfired pizzas, handmade pasta and Society Roasters coffee. The large dining space is the perfect spot for plates to share and a cocktail or two.
