The Australian Lamb Ad is here and this year it lambpoons Gen Z and Boomers

Lamb barbecue? Lit!

Post-Christmas, there’s no tradition more anticipated than the release of the annual lamb ad.

Each year, Meat and Livestock Australia sends out a searing roast in honour of the Aussiest of meats – lamb.

This year, the target is the “generation gap” with both boomers and zillenials getting a fierce skewering.

The film imagines a world with a very real divide, with young-uns and old-timers separated by a giant chasm.

Left to their own devices (Gen Z quite literally), each generation is unable to find common ground with each other, until a lamb BBQ appears.

Apparently, what we all have in common is a love of lamb (we knew there was something).

Graeme Yardy, Domestic Market Manager at Meat and Livestock Australia said:
“Pop culture would have us believe that the generations are practically different species. Apparently, Boomers are unable to master the basics of technology whilst Zoomers spend every waking moment making TikTok dances, and Millennials spend too much on avo toast and craft beer.

“But in reality, there’s far more that unites than separates us, and that’s what this year’s Summer Lamb campaign is all about. Whether it’s a love of our sporting heroes or our beautiful landscapes, the best of Australia always brings us together. What better way to break down the generational divide than over an epic Aussie lamb BBQ the ultimate unifier! Lamb should be on the shopping list of anyone looking to celebrate this summer.”
