Bunbelievable news!
Hot cross buns are back, baby! But before you give in to the annual outrage, just know that this year’s selection includes Caramilk caramelised white chocolate buns. Now, who can be cross about that?
Inspired by the popular chocolate block, the new limited edition hot cross buns trade up the usual dried fruit for Cadbury Caramilk choc chips. They’re available to purchase for $4.50 for a four-pack from Woolworths supermarkets tomorrow.
This year’s Woolworths hot cross bun range will include a number of fruitless, fruit and chocolate varieties, including hot cross brioche buns with Cadbury milk chocolate chips and premium fruit buns filled with vine fruit, candied orange and cranberries. Another hot new flavour is set to be the apple and cinnamon hot cross buns, made from Australian pink lady apples.
Gluten-free hot cross buns and a hot cross fruit loaf will also make a return this year.

Jason McQuaid, Woolworths Commercial Director, Bakery said: “Our teams across the country have been baking up innovation and quality to bring customers a fresh range of Hot Cross Buns for the Easter season.
“Our indulgent flavours are also highly anticipated, and what could arguably be our most exciting flavour yet is the Hot Cross Buns made with Cadbury Caramilk chips. We’re expecting these limited edition buns to be in high demand from customers and encourage them to get in early if they want to try them.
“Hot Cross Buns are incredibly popular this time of year; last year we sold more than 2 million individual hot cross buns the first week they were on sale, so we’re thrilled to help Aussies end another challenging year with a delicious treat.”
Woolworths hot cross bun range, including Cadbury Caramilk hot cross buns, will hit supermarkets nationwide from December 29, 2021.
