The Australian dessert favourites are set to collaborate on a special range of elaborate biscuits.

Considering it’s Australia Day, it seems the perfect time to announce the merging of two national foodie favourites. We’re talking sweet treat experts Gelato Messina and Arnott’s biscuits, who have confirmed a line of specialty Tim Tams to launch shortly.

The range of gelato-inspired Tim Tam flavours is set to “knock your socks off” according to the brands. The decadent new offerings include Choc Mint, Salted Caramel & Vanilla, Coconut & Lychee and Black Forest and will be launching in stores from February 6.

Gelato Messina was delighted to work with the Aussie biccie giant on the collaboration. “When Arnott’s approached us about creating gelato-inspired Tim Tam flavours, it was pretty exciting and quite a privilege,” explains Messina co-founder Declan Lee. But it wasn’t an idea without its hurdles. “It was a new challenge for us – making a gelato is one thing – and making a biscuit that tastes like that gelato is another,” he continues.

The production process was a lengthy one that saw the Messina team spend plenty of time at Tim Tam’s Western Sydney home. Biscuit versions of their ice cream counterparts were created, with key flavour profiles then blended to form the four-part flavour range.

Both brands were eager to uphold Messina’s reputation for using quality quirky ingredients. “We were drawn to the guys from Messina because of their uncompromising commitment to flavours. We’re happy to say this shines through in the biscuits, which taste as good as they sound,” says Arnott’s Global Communications Manager Nicky Thomson.
